Eric Clapton's Guitars Replicated

As part of Mr Clapton's continuing efforts to raise funds for his Crossroads Treatment Centre in Antigua, Mr Clapton has teamed up with Fender, Gibson and Martin guitars to replicate some of his guitars These are available to purchase through Guitar Centre from 21 March. They're not cheap though: the Stratocaster and the Les Paul are $14,999 each...
The Crossroads Festival is at Madison Square Gardens, on 12/13 April.
Here's a video of Himself trying out and talking about the Gibson Les Paul replica.

Frank Zappa: Cosmik Debris

A couple of weeks ago, I mentioned that Dweezil Zappa has been working with those wonderful chaps at Gibson guitars on producing a Frank Zappa Signature Model of the SG.
Here's a video of Frankie playing the original.

The Mothers:
Ian Underwood, saxophone; Jean-Luc Ponty, violin; Bruce Fowler, trombone; Tom Fowler, bass; Ruth Underwood, percussion; Ralph Humphrey, drums; George Duke, keyboards.
[PS. The Zappa Family Trust have signed a new deal for the re-release of FZ's albums. If you haven't got 'em already, get 'em today! Either direct or, more reasonable priced, via iTunes, Amazon etc etc]

Frank Zappa Signature Model Gibson SG

Exciting news for Zappa nerds. Dweezil has been working with those splendid chaps at Gibson to produce a signature model of FZ's famous SG that Frank customised extensively. Dweezil is using the prototype on his next tour and we can expect the guitar to be commercially available sometime soon.
I doubt if it'll be cheap though and, no matter how hard you try, you still won't sound as good as FZ!
