Schadenfreude vol.2: Carlos v. Gary

Nice to see Gary Neville up to his usual childish behaviour following Carlos Tevez's emphatic two-goal response to Neville's endorsement of Sir Alex's view that Carlos wasn't worth the £25 million asking price. Given Mr Neville's track record in this regard, I expect the FA will be asking him to explain himself. You'd think he'd realise that there'd be photographers watching and waiting to catch him out. It'll be a tense second leg next week...maybe Manchester City will buy a new defence in the meantime. No doubt they'll be sending a couple of hefty bodyguards round to accompany Mr Tevez wherever he goes for the next week or so.

  1. Whilst I would never, ever say that Gary Neville is whiter than white (far from it, in fact), I have to take issue with the lack of impartiality on this blog. I don't believe there is a single person on the planet who wouldn't have given Tevez "the bird" while he was repeatedly making the "yappy hand signal" in his face. What I don't get is everyone vilifying Neville for a gesture that, while rude (oh the bad, bad man!) is common the world over. And yet, no one stops to ask whether what Tevez was up to was completely innocent! Yes, Neville had been asked a question by the press (obviously hoping to wind things up before the game) and gave an honest answer -- something a great many of us actually agree with -- that Tevez was overpriced and the businessmen in possession of his "economic rights" were simply trying to make as much of a fast mega-buck as they could. Tevez should get over Man Utd, move on with his life and go off into a corner and count all his money. Sadly, this incident, as usual, is more Man Utd bashing with everyone (sadly, Xorg included) jumping on the bandwagon.
